Roy Lichtenstein


Roy Lichtenstein died at the age of 73.


He taught at New York in 1951.



He had two sons: David and Mitchell Lichtenstein.




He started to teach at Rutgers University in 1960.




Roy also had two wives.


Ben-Dots is a type of art named after the creator: Benjamin Henry Day Jr. The dots used could be wide or close together, depending on the image need to make.


The difference between Warhol and Lichtenstein is that Warhol did not use the Ben-Day dots.

Warhol

  1.     Pop art is art based on modern popular culture and the mass media, especially as a critical or ironic comment on traditional fine art values.






    Warhol's art uses many forms of medias.




    He also was a pioneer in computer-generated art.



    Warhol was the author of numerous books.



    He began exhibiting his work during the 1950s.



    There was an attempted murder placed on him on June 3rd, 1968.

Photomontage is the process and the result of making a composite photograph by cutting and joining two or more photographs into an illusion of an unreal subject. Sometimes the resulting composite image is photographed so that a final image may appear as a seamless photographic print.



Hockney would overlap images to make his art.




It could take him days to make one piece.




He was influenced by Picasso.




Hockney is interested in how we see the world.




Most famous piece is Joiners of an American Highway.
